Lake Travis Elementary is a bilingual campus that supports an inclusive environment where all students are learning and growing together, not divided based on language or special needs. We ensure that all students have a sense of belonging and that they understand that they are a critical part of our campus and our success. We utilize a co-teach model for our special education students, thus creating an environment where every student has access to a deep and rich curriculum while providing support for individuals with unique needs. At LTE, students celebrate diversity with the understanding that being different allows for a deeper understanding of the world around us.
Every teacher has a sense of ownership for all students and strives for their success. The Title I program has allowed us to utilize the Professional Learning Communities model to work together to guarantee student success and to learn from one another. At LTE, everyone is learning and growing daily, not just students. Teachers spend a great deal of time in the learner role, further developing their repertoire of best practices. Teachers plan together utilizing our adopted curriculum and to ensure that all students receive a similar learning experience.
LTE is the most diverse campus in the district. We celebrate our diversity by celebrating our children and their cultural backgrounds. Our aim is to educate the entire child. Our focus goes beyond academic success as we want our children to become well-rounded, empowered students who are emotionally healthy and happy individuals. As educators, we challenge ourselves to celebrate our students and their personal successes.
At LTE we expect our students to work hard and expect nothing less from our adults. We have high expectations for everyone. We want children to love learning. We want them to have a passion for life and for taking on new challenges. Our children and our community deserve the very best. At our school we having a saying…LTE Rocks! While a simple statement, it embodies the pride that every child and adult has for the LTE community.
