Special Diet Lunch Menu

Updated 11/6/12

PARENT/GUARDIAN NOTICE:   As we approach the completion of the 2012-2013 school year, the LTISD Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) department has begun to settle all lunch accounts which currently have a negative balance. Therefore, FANS will implement a "no negative balance" policy for all lunch accounts beginning May 15th.   Students will not be able to charge a meal that would incur a negative balance equivalent to 2 complete meals (as is allowed during most of the regular school calendar). If a student would like to purchase a plate and their account is at zero ($0.00) or below, they will be given a cheese sandwich meal.   Please use this opportunity to replenish your child’s Lunch Money Now account so that your child can make his/her desired meal selections at the Fuel Café or Cavalier Café.

Place money on your student's lunch account and/or
review your student's purchase history any time at
Lunch Money Online
(click link to go to log-in page)
*You will need your student's ID#, Date of Birth and last 4 digits of the Social Security number on file.
For your student ID#, please contact your campus front office for assistance.

Please make sure you deposit sufficient funds into your student's lunch account via the Lunch Money Now site prior to the start of the school day. Deposited money via Lunch Money Now is NOT immediately available and delays caused by network issues are beyond our control.

** Please note - as of this year, unpaid balances on student accounts higher than the value of two (2) lunch meals will no longer be allowed. Students with unpaid debt equal to the value of two (2) meals will be provided a cheese sandwich, fruit or vegetable, and milk until the account is brought into good standing. As such, elementary students cannot exceed a negative balance over $5.40, middle school students cannot exceed a negative balance of over $6.00, and high school students cannot have any negative balance.
**All questions on student accounts should be directed to the Cafe Manager first. Account concerns must be reported to the Managers in writing within 30 days of the charge.
If you have questions are need assistance accessing your student's online account, call (512) 533-6037.

Breakfast and Lunch Price List for all Cafe's

Lake Travis ISD Food & Nutrition Services operates the Fuel Café at all elementary and middle school campuses in the District and the Cavalier Café at the high school, serving breakfast and lunch at all locations.  Menus are designed to meet the recommendations and requirements of the United States Department of Agriculture’s National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, as well as the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Texas Public School Nutrition Policy

The USDA has made several changes to school meal nutrition standards via the Healthy, Hunger Free-Kids Act of 2010. These changes mainly affect students in Kindergarten through 8th grade as their campuses participate in the National School Lunch and National School Breakfast Progras. As of July 1, 2012, LTISD is observing the following changes:
  • Grains will be limited to 9 ounces per week
  • Meats or Meat Alternates will be limited to 10 ounces per week
  • Fruits and Vegetables will now be considered separate food groups
  • Students must select at least a 1/2 cup of Fruit or Vegetable if they are purchasing a complete meal
  • Menus must utilize vegetable sub-groups and each must be offered at least once per week;
    vegetables are organized into 5 subgroups, based on their nutrient content; for more information on
    vegetable sub-groups, visit http://www.choosemyplate.gov/food-groups
  • Milk (1% milk fat or less, unflavored) or Fat-free Milk (flavored or unflavored) will be made available;
    please note, this has been our District’s prior practice
  • Food items must not contain trans fat
  • Sodium must be reduced annually through 2022

 Additionally, in order to allow students more choices and reduce food waste, Offer Versus Serve (OVS) will now be implemented at all grade levels. With OVS, students must choose at least 3 of the 5 meal components where one choice must be a Fruit or a Vegetable.
