Get a good night’s sleep the night before and have a nutritious breakfast the morning of.
Bring at least $10 for food/drinks OR bring your own.
Dress professionally!Bring comfy clothes to change into if you like.
You CAN wear your HBMS UIL shirt or other HBMS shirts, but if you are competing in a speaking event, you cannot wear any shirt that shows what school you are from while competing.
Bring games, books, homework, headphones, & gameboys—things to do during your “down time.”
Wear a watch and be aware of where you need to be at what time.
Obey HBMS school rules & respect our host school.
Have a good attitude and be friendly to other students, teachers, & parents from other schools.You are representing HBMS …make us proud!Smile!: )Be happy!
Bring your UIL packet with all contest info (map, schedule, etc).
If you ride the bus, DO NOT be late!We are leaving HBMS at 7:45am!!!
If your parents bring you, be there an hour before your event begins to meet up with your coach and your team.We want to make sure you make it on time.
Notify coaches of any problems immediately so they can help you!
Plan to attend the awards ceremony at 3:00pm to celebrate your victory!
If your parents are taking you home, you MUST sign out at the HBMS check-out table before you leave!
If you ride the bus back, have a ride waiting for you at HBMS.We expect to be back by 4:00pm.

Forget about food!Either bring money for the snack bar or your own food for the day.
Wear anything wrinkled or holey.Please take pride in your appearance!!!
Be late!!!If you don’t show up to your event on time, HBMS will forfeit your points!Our school gets points for your participation, even if you don’t do well.
Be disrespectful or rude to ANYONE at the meet.You never know when the judges may be watching you.
Be shy.This is a great opportunity to meet other people from different schools and to make new friends!
Change transportation plans at the last minute.We need to know well in advance how you plan to get to & from the competition so we can make bus plans.Please tell your coach if your plans change.
Leave the competition without signing out at the HBMS check-out table!!!We need to know where you are at all times.
