Bee Cave Elementary is a school where everyone is loved, honored and challenged. All individuals are encouraged to be creative, productive, compassionate, and successful lifelong learners.
Character Education and Citizenship
BCE students enjoy a climate of high expectations in behavior and attitude. Students are encouraged to live the “Bobcat Way” every day. Each day begins with morning announcements and pledges. Students are reminded of the life skills through Character Counts. Friday student-led assemblies are centered around the life skills. A different class leads the assembly each Friday.
Students at Bee Cave study a wide variety of subjects daily. Kindergarten through second grade students use a phonics based program to improve reading, writing and spelling skills. Students in these grades work on decoding words daily.
The school curriculum also includes math, science, social studies, health and computer technology. All students have art, music, and physical education on a rotating basis. Eligible students have access to special programs such as Special Education, the Discovery Program in Gifted/Talented (GT), English as a Second Language (ESL), the mentoring program, and reading and math support.
Students at Bee Cave have a heart for giving, therefore, they want to give back to their extended community. A variety of Service Projects are done during the school year. Students in 4th-5th grades are encouraged to participate in the Student Council.
Bee Cave students are rewarded for perfect attendance, A Honor Roll and A/B Honor Roll each nine weeks and at the end of year assembly. The Bobcat Award is given each week to students in the class that leads the Friday assembly.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students receive a learning profile reflecting the growth of the child in areas of cognitive and social development. Grades Three, Four and Five students receive numerical grades in: Language Arts, Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Letter grades are given to all students in PE, Art, Computer and Music.
