This funding is used for teacher and employee salaries, services for students, school and facility maintenance, student transportation, state recapture (Robin Hood), and other expenditures. The District has an annual debt service fund budget of $16.5 million. This funding is used to pay for the retirement of bonds and interest on outstanding debt.
In addition, capital projects funds are used for the construction of new schools and support facilities, as well as for the renovation of existing schools and infrastructure and equipment for other departments, all in an effort to meet the growing needs of the District.
There are two on-going bond programs: the 2004 Series Bonds and the 2006 Series Bonds. Lake Travis ISD is one of only seven districts in Texas to receive a "AA+" bond rating from Standard and Poor’s.
