Frank Contreras
Director of Maintenance and Operations
Frank Contreras is the Director of Maintenance and Operations. A native Austinite, he began his tenure at LTISD in 2001 as a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning—or HVAC—technician. He served as the District’s maintenance supervisor and was named Director of Maintenance and Operations in July 2010. Contreras holds certification in numerous areas including Indoor Air Quality, Integrated Pest Management and Asbestos. He is a member of the Texas Association of School Boards’ OnSite Energy Services program, the Texas Association of School Business Officials and the Capital Area Maintenance & Operations – Region XIII.
The Maintenance and Operations Department’s goal is to provide exceptional support to students, staff, and community by maintaining schools and facilities in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use may be made at all times as well as to provide students with a physical learning environment that is safe, clean, attractive and functional. The Maintenance and Operations staff works as a single unit to provide the finest support services districtwide.
The department is comprised of maintenance, custodial, and landscape technicians. In all, there are approximately 90 individuals employed in the department who maintain roughly 1,310,000 square feet of instructional and administrative facilities as well as over 225 acres encompassing eight campuses, four support buildings, 11 gymnasiums, and three athletic stadiums.
The Lake Travis ISD Maintenance and Operations Department is located adjacent to Lake Travis High School in Building #9. Hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For after-hour emergencies, please call (512) 848-0899.
