  •  Austin LifeGuard
Lake Travis ISD’s Healthy Lifestyles Program is pleased to announce:  There will be an Austin LifeGuard parent information meeting.
Miss the parent meeting - see the presentation below!

Austin LifeGuard will be coming to present to 7th and 8th grade Science classes and 6th grade Health classes in the coming months. This curriculum is a component of many high schools and middle schools in the Austin area.  The program’s goal is to empower teens with accurate information and practical tools to help them make healthy decisions, build healthy relationships, and postpone sexual involvement until marriage.

Hudson Bend Middle School recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Brooke Army Medical Center/Fort Sam Houston Warrior and Family Support Center for their act of kindness and generosity during the 2014 holiday season.  Students sent cards and snacks to servicemen and women  and their families affiliated with Wounded Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom Warriors.  The certificate stated that the students’ actions “exemplify the spirit of America.’’  Pictured (left to right) are Hunter Price, Kathryn Willsey, school principal Mark Robinson, Marco Tovar and Adelle Miller.  Not pictured is Sharon McMichael, HBMS Reading Enrichment and Reading Dyslexia Specialist, who sponsored the activity.
